BRC has agreed a 1:1 equal partnership matching program with United World Colleges (UWC), whose mission is to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.

Starting in 2016, outstandingly talented young refugees will be offered a place at one of UWC’s 15 colleges around the world. This will be expanded in subsequent years – providing refugees from the Middle East and other parts of the world with a unique opportunity to access UWC’s world-class transformational education programs. UWC and BRC wish to establish a consortium of donors and supporters to provide a life changing education for up to 100 of these young people every year.

An education at UWC will allow these young people to develop their talents and expose them to different ways of thinking. The partnership sets an example to other institutions about the value of inclusion, bringing together diverse student populations to learn from each other.

The partnership between BRC and UWC will not only make 100 dreams a year come true, it will ultimately affect the lives of many more people. With their experience of conflict giving them a deep commitment to peace, these students are the next generation of leaders who will help to rebuild their troubled regions.

Help us meet our yearly goal by donating http://bluerosecompass.org/donate/

Founded in 1962, UWC welcomes students aged up to 19 from a deliberately diverse range of backgrounds and experiences – including different socio-economic backgrounds, cultures, races, religions and nationalities – who are united in their commitment to social action to build a more equitable and fairer world. Its unique model of education supports young people to flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
